“I don’t know what to do for dinner,” is one phrase that does not need to be said this summer. That’s because, every Friday through September 2, Balboa Park is hosting Food Truck Friday. This is a gathering of several food trucks that offer various cuisines.

Truck are lined up all along the Prado walkway, as well as the main plaza within the heart of Balboa Park. I supplied music within the plaza for the July 1, 2016 event for a few thousand al fresco diners. The highlight of the evening was mixing “Summertime” (in the summer), with On a Sunday Afternoon (in Balboa Park).

Price Philanthropies Holiday Party - Museum of Man San Diego

Uplighting creates a dramatic effect on the high ceilings and exhibits at the Museum of Man in Balboa Park.

Price Philanthropies held its annual holiday at the Museum of Man, located in Balboa Park, on December 27, 2015. The party was attended by staff, supporters and current and former members of the organizations Aaron Price Fellows Program.

The program gives opportunities for San Diego area public high school students to learn about their community and develop leadership skills. 

The Museum of Man is both a unique and beautiful space to hold an event. With it’s concrete floors, high ceilings and towering exhibits, it’s a feast for both the ears and eyes. In fact, since I was playing an open format set of music, I slipped in a few acoustic tracks just to hear the sound of a raw voice filling up the entire front section of the facility.

Also, this space is made for uplighting and no event should go without it.
